A telecaster came in for some much needed renovation this past week, included in the upgrade package were some Steel Twin pickups. These are dual coil pickups meaning they can be tapped via a push/pull, allowing switching between vintage twang and more driven tones, pretty damn versatile.
I've taken a look at IronGear's tele pickups before, and these are more or less the same pickup in "normal" operation, and with the extra coil engaged there's a nice bump in output and midrange without being obnoxious. It's very usable and provides tonal options beyond being just a simple booster.
