Alnico IV magnets as found in this set tend to tame a little of the high end and supplement the mid-range that can go missing with some of the more common Alnico V offerings. These are also wound a little hotter than vintage style coils, so while they still have that tele twang there's a lot of warmth and fullness to be found here. The neck pickup is well rounded, and can sound fairly dark when played softly, however the snap returns when you dig in to it a little. Great dynamics. The bridge pickup is raunchy and never shrill, crashing big chords through a pushed amp is an absolute joy.
