Takamine restoration

This guitar came into the workshop looking like it had gotten into a fight and lost.

It's seen plenty of use, often sighted entertaining the crowds on Church St. in Liverpool City Centre. It recently got itself a new hole in the top and the badly worn frets and kindling-dry board were in dire need of some attention.

Her modelling days may be over but at least she's whole again:

The fret wear had the classic chord shaped pattern and some of them were pretty deep, although nothing that couldn't be fixed by levelling and dressing them out:

These Japanese made Takamines are superb acoustics and are often noticeably nicer than the Mexican made Martin and Taylor offerings in the same price range. This one was well worth the time and money spent repairing it.
