Dropped a set of Bare Knuckle Blackguard Flat '50 pickups in this USA telecaster. These are right up my street as I prefer a lower output chimey neck pickup paired with a higher output filth engine in the bridge. Plenty flexible; country, blues and rock are handled in stride.
While both are vintage voiced alnico V units the bridge is based on the earliest Broadcaster pickups which were wound hot, real hot, about 10kΩ and change, however we're not talking overwound sterility here, we'll leave that to Texas Specials. It still sounds like a proper telcaster, just one that is deep into a Friday night of irresponsible drinking. Loud and rude. The neck is much more civilised but it all still works as a wonderful whole.
